She adored her parents her entire life. The whole family grew up on a farm with chickens, cows, a garden and a lot of hard work. She graduated from Greenhills High School. She went on to marry the love of her life James (Jim) Foster who she met when he was riding a horse down her street. She followed Jim to Illinois where they lived for a time while Jim was in the air force. Jim and Frieda went on to have five children Jenny, Kathie, Jim, Rob and Amy. She enthusiastically welcomed into the family Son in Laws Larry, George and Eddie and Daughter in Laws Nancy and Debbie. She was an original member of St. Bartholomew Parish for over 60 years. Married at St. James of Wyoming and a devout Catholic her entire life. Frieda was the consummate stay at home full time Mom. She worked hard to keep up with her beautiful home which they literally built themselves and her large, busy family. Frieda loved her “rock garden” and filled it with every kind of perennial flower she could add to it. The family had so much fun in the backyard pool, where she rarely went in the water but, she loved hanging out with the family. She loved her children dearly and cooked wonderful dinners almost every night of the week. This was before fast food and casual dining was an everyday event. When Jim had opportunities to work abroad in Europe, she made it very clear that, she did not want to stray far from her home which was less than two miles from the home where she grew up. Beyond living abroad, she was always up for anything that was presented. Out for dinner, weekend trip, shopping at the mall….she was always ready to go and join in! Shopping was a bit of a passion. She loved to shop!! Frieda loved cards and card games! She would play anytime, anyplace, anywhere. She was supper lucky and would almost always win. Jim and Frieda’s lifelong friends were known as “The Poker Bunch” a group of couples where the men played poker, they had dinner parties, traveled together extensively and raised their familiar together! Great times and memories. Frieda spearheaded many family camping trips, trips to Florida, a large RV trip out west, Kentucky Lake, Lake James and more. After the family was mostly grown Jim and Frieda enjoyed some international travel to France and Switzerland. When she became a widow at 63 and lost her life partner to ALS she went on to travel to China and Ireland. She never got over the loss of her great love and went on to live 26 years with him in her heart. Frieda had thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and loved them all. She welcomed each and everyone with open arms and was so proud of each one. She hosted numerous holiday celebrations at her home with the whole group including Thanksgivings, Christmases, Easter Brunch and Egg Hunts and summer cookouts and swim parties. Grandma’s house was a warm and wonderful place to visit!! She was loved by all, so easy going, friendly, loving and an amazing Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma ,Great Grandma, Aunt and friend!!
